I. Eligibility Certificates:
Drivers' Eligibility Certificates are valid for only 30 days before you will need to request another one. Please wait until you are close to going to NCDMV to test for your permit before requesting an Eligibility Certificate from your student's high school front office.
Be sure to bring the Driver's Education Certificate issued by your student's Driving Instructor with you, as the school will not issue the Eligibility Certificate without it.
II. NC Drivers Education Requirements:
-
Student must be 14.5 yrs. old or older by the first day of class - No exceptions
-
Students must complete the 30-hr. Classroom instruction
-
Students must attend and pass the required DMV Vision Screening - The schedule will be provided during the class
-
Student must complete the 6-hrs. Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Driving Instruction
-
Student must live within the Lenoir County School District
III. Things to Consider:
-
At this time, all classes are held live over Zoom with mandatory attendance. If your student cannot commit 100% to class attendance and participation, they will need to register for a later class.
-
Registration is first come - first serve due to limited seating. Classes are capped at 35 students each.
For any questions, contact our Main Office at jdsvanceboro@gmail.com /or/ 252-244-1220
IV. Upcoming Class Registrations:
-
Registration is first-come, first-served with limited seating. The registration form will 'close' as soon as 35 students have been registered; the link will be removed from this page once the class has been verified as 'full'.
