​I. Eligibility Certificates: 

Drivers Eligibility Certificates are ​valid for only 30 days before you will need to request another one. Please wait until you are close to going to NCDMV to test for your permit before requesting an Eligibility Certificate from your students high school.

​

 

​II. PCSNC Drivers Ed Fee:

There is a fee of $65.00 which must be paid to PCSNC before registering for the Driver Education course.  

You will be asked for an Approval Code when registering for a class, this is the receipt number from when you paid the $65.00 fee 

​

• If a student attends PHS, this fee can be paid online using the link below;

-Person County Payment Portal-

• There is a $1.95 processing fee. An approval code/receipt number will be issued at the time of payment

​

• If the student attends another school; Homeschool, Charter, or Private, Payment must be made at the Central Office of Person County;

III. NC Drivers Education Requirements:

 

• Student must be 14.5 yrs. old by the first day of class - No exceptions

• Must complete the 30-hr. Classroom instruction

• Must attend and pass the required DMV Vision Screening - The schedule will be provided during the class

• Complete the 6-hrs. Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Driving Instruction

• Student must live within the PCSNC School District

IV. Things to Consider:

Please Read the Considerations Carefully:

 

• At this time all classes will remain virtual and attendance is mandatory. If your student cannot commit 100% to class attendance, this is not the class to register for.

• Registration is first come - first serve due to limited seating. Everyone has the same notice to register. Payment of the $65.00 is NOT the class registration.

Athletes: 

If you/your student is an athlete, it is to their advantage to take the earlier Summer classes as most Fall/Winter sports begin practice in August.

Many of the sports have year round workouts in the mornings, so please consider the afternoon classes. If they did not take the Summer classes, keep watch for a Winter Break or Spring Break class.

Age/Grade:

It is recommended for upperclassmen and students 16-18yrs old to take the June/July classes, as this will put them driving sooner rather than later.

If your Senior is a first semester graduate please let us know, as once your student graduates in January we will be unable to complete the driving sessions until they receive their NC Permit.

We will go over how to prepare for going to the DMV with you during your class    If your student turns 18 before they are able to complete their driving lessons they will need to get their NC Permit before we can complete their lessons
